January 14, 2012

Another wonderful night of evenly spaced feedings led to a perfect cuddly morning. Olivia nursed at 1:30 am, 4:30 am, 7:30 am and then at 10:30 am - which is when we 'got up'. Plenty of sleep for both of us. Today we hunkered down inside (not that strange for us) because the temperature outside was -46 degrees Fahrenheit! The ice fog was so thick that you couldn't see across the street!

In spite of the nasty temperatures, we had company coming! Olivia and I put a lasagna in to bake for lunch and waited for Morgan. She came bearing...ice cream of course! Once again she saved the day by shoveling the deck and trimming Sophie's nails. We spent the day watching Disney movies in our pajamas and Olivia spent most of the day in a 'milk coma'.

In the afternoon, Olivia got spiffed up for a very special Skype date with her cousins in Shanghai! Her hair looked so fluffy and red in the light, I couldn't help but take more pictures. (Not that I need much of an excuse to take pictures!) This was the first time she got to see Uncle Chris, Aunt Lisa, Tessa, Max & Ellie. She spent the whole call sleeping peacefully, which wasn't very exciting for her cousins, but they showed her some of their special treasures, sang to her and read her a story. She's a lucky girl, to have such lovely cousins.

Later in the evening she got to Mimi & Poppy (yes Papa, we're trying out a new monicker for you!). They were treated to some snoozing, but also some vocal stylings and some funny baby faces as she dreamed. Mimi thinks Olivia is bigger than when she left - she thinks Olivia's gained another 5oz. I suppose that could be true; she eats a lot! After we got off the computer, we changed back into our pajamas and snuggled on the couch. I think we're going to call it a (relatively) early night tonight. Olivia has made herself a cozy nest and I am going to follow her lead and do the same.

  1. I am especially fond of her hair for some reason ;) She looks very like her Dad in some of the pictures, and other ones I see her Mom, you are both very lucky!

I think Olivia has a much nicer ring, too.
