Another quiet day at the Mulvey house. Olivia & I had a lovely time together. We spent a lot of time snuggling. In fact, we spent most of the day snuggling because Olivia did not want to be separated from me. But I was complicit in that arrangement, too - I didn't want to put her down either. I enjoyed the fact that she wanted to be close to my face, to feel my breath, grab my lip, study me. I may have been imagining it, but today I think she smiled when I kissed her and I even think she tried to imitate some of my facial movements. But of course, I think she's smiling out of glee and not gas, too. So maybe I'm delusional. As I'm typing, Olivia is laying her hand on my chest. She has such beautiful long fingers.

Today Olivia's baby acne looks much improved. In other medical news, I heard back that the tests regarding my elevated blood pressure were all normal. Apparently I was just really, really excited to be at the doctor's office; or maybe it was the fact that I was wearing real pants AND shoes for the first time that day. Also, the ENT office called and scheduled an appointment for Olivia to be seen on Tuesday afternoon. They wanted to see her right away, but since there's a four day weekend Tuesday was the first opportunity. Once again, I'm impressed at the speedy attention we've gotten.

All the way to the other side! |
Today we tried out the baby (Snugli) carrier that my mother carried my sister & I in. I was a little nervous that I had adjusted the straps tight enough, but it worked. We were able to take care of a load of laundry, and then Olivia was very content to have her face & hair washed while safe in the Snugli. Olivia worked on her 'tummy time' and once again scooted her way across her pond - even though she was wearing a fleece 'sack' with no legs. She worked really hard! After that she conveniently napped, just long enough for me to get in a quick shower. Today we also played with our bunny rattle from Sarah Abel. Olivia even put her hand (and arm) through the hole herself! Another (silly) milestone - today we moved up a diaper size. Those newborn diapers just looked too tight on her legs - so we're into our stash of size ones.

Tonight she got to talk to Aunt Jenny on the phone, which was so nice. And then she got to see Daddy on our first family Skype session. What a great way to end the day! Soon it's time for our (possibly) last feeding before we go to bed in earnest. Pleasant dreams everyone!
