Today was a tough day to be a baby. I think Olivia was having another day of 'growing pains' because she just needed a little bit extra today - extra milk, extra holding, extra kisses. So, there's not too much 'news' to share. When Olivia was calm & sleepy, we slept; when she was hungry, she ate. Sometimes, mommy tricked her into sleeping and when she woke up she was extra distressed because she could have been eating!

We did take a tiny trip today - very tiny. We got suited up for the cold weather and hopped in the car for...a ride to the mailbox. And it's a good thing we did! The mailbox was full AND we were taking up two of the auxiliary mailboxes with packages. Thank you Cathy, Chris & Lisa, Laurie & Bill, Marilyn, Uncle Lane & Aunt Marge, Dawn and Kari for all the goodies you sent! Also, one of her birth certificates has arrived - from the state of Alaska. We're still waiting for one from the hospital and her social security number. We spent some of the afternoon/evening sorting through all our mail, and organizing bills & statements from the past year. This was easy to do with Olivia in the Snugli - since she didn't want to be put down. Even now, I finally got her to drift off...and moments after laying her down, she's awake again. At least right now she is amusing herself - examining the patterns on her blanket from Aunty Kari.

Today Olivia's belly button was finally revealed! The shedding seems to have been contagious, because most of my dermabond came off today, too - showing a tidy little scar.
When Olivia did doze off, she looked angelic and I was able to play with the camera and get some nice shots of her looking peaceful. When she was not dozing she looked...less than peaceful. I'm not sure when we'll get to sleep tonight but, fortunately for us, we don't have anywhere to be tomorrow. I'm very lucky to have this time to spend at home with her. It's the best. Even when she's fussy there's no place I'd rather be.
